Have a conversation with your patients about NAFLD & NASH and ask if they are interested in research. Let them know some one from DRI will call them.
Make sure there is a set of current labs or order if needed. Preferably a set of LFTs, CMP & CBC.
Order a FibroScan® if one has not been done in the past 6 months.
Historical liver biopsies are a terrific plus. Please consider obtaining a biopsy prior to referring when possible.
Patients with recent cancer history (2 years) will not be eligible
(unless skin cancer)
